Locking Saddles

WLS130/F Model

The WLS130 locking saddle is the answer to the tuning instability found on the majority of vibrato bridges developed from 1954 onwards and is a replacement component that is easy to fit, hard wearing, and relatively inexpensive in comparison to many custom upgrades available for your instrument.

Designed and developed by Trev Wilkinson the WLS130 locking saddle is manufactured to extremely high tolerances using hardened steel saddles and screws to securely anchor the string at the front edge of the saddle, this eliminates any repositioning of the string at the intonation point whilst using the vibrato bar or bending the strings, this being the most common cause of tuning instability with all standard six screw and two pivot point vibrato systems.

Built to Last

The design of the WLS130 locking saddle had to take in account not only the high level of tension from a tuned string at the saddle area but the stress and strain of vibrato movement which constantly changes the tension on each string. The WLS130 saddle counters these forces by offering a large surface area for the string to sit in which is then held solidly by the hardened clamp screw.

We also developed a Satin finish hard chrome for our saddles to avoid corrosion that occurs on unfinished hardened steel components, this is the reason that our saddles are only available in this finish as other finishes do not offer this strength and long term reliability when clamped.

To top this off our intonation screw is also hardened steel for maximum strength and long life.

The WLS130/F locking saddle is specifically for Fender’s vibrato that features a solid saddle with offset intonation screw.
